Fall 2021 Newsletter
Greetings Fellow Misfits and Dry Cider Lovers,
As the days get shorter, it gets colder and colder, and there is starting to be snow again in the Mountains. That can mean only one thing, its Fall. With summer and Farmer Market season behind us, we now look to fall and winter.
Fall means apple harvest , fresh juice, and falling leaves. It means one more layer of clothes, and ditching those shorts, for a pair of jeans. It means winter is coming.
Our orchard is small, and this year we had a hell of a time with the deer. After building probably 7 different fences, I think we finally at least reduced the deer attacks, so that hopefully next year we will get unobstructed growth in the trees. I plan on planting another 25 tree’s to add to our orchard, filled with French and English cider varietals .
We wanted to say thank you to everyone that visited us at Bayview farmers market this summer, and helped make this the best year yet of the market. Not just for our cidery , but the market as a whole, did awesome this year. We love the support we get from our community and our friends. We wouldn’t be here without you.
Whats Next?
We now have a tasting/ Cider room at our production space. Open regularly Fridays and Saturdays from 12-7, and Wednesday from 5-8. We can still open by appointment for those that can’t make those times.
We will be closed in December from Dec. 8th through the 30th for some vacation, and Christmas. We will be open on New years eve for those looking for some cider for the festivity’s or need something to toast with.
We are going to start up some events at the tasting room. Here are just a few semi regular ones we want to start.
Wednesdays are for Gamers!! We want to host a regular game night on Wednesday’s.. We have a pool table, corn hole, Cribbage, Magic the gathering – for those that play or want to learn I play the commander version of this but am open for any style of play. We have Cards against humanity for those groups that enjoy those kinds of games, or really anything else you want to play. Let us know what you want to play and we will set something up.
We are going to start having music on the second Friday of the month. We already did a trial run, which was a blast, and plan to start this regularly in January.
I used to be a DJ, and still am very passionate about music, and playing for people. Outside of just reggae, I play a variety of styles of electronic music, and have friends that will be joining me monthly for a Friday Dance night. So come on out to something that is not offered on Whidbey, some electronic dance music.
We are now available in a few more locations around the island, including Front street Grill in Coupeville, and we are back at the star store in Langley.
We are currently working on a Spiced Cider called Wassailing, a traditional Wassail style cider, with a Tropical Twist. We celebrate Wassail, and the origins to it. This should be available in December some time.
I hope you all have a very happy holiday season, and this year get to spend it with the ones you love!
Thank you
